25th July - Lines - Bawdsey
It seemed like Bawdsey was the best place to be this week, certainly cooler than being on the laptop! I'm interested in the lines we have in images and Bawdsey is a great place for that. Lines can lead and divide and also block the eye going through an image. Here there are couple that focus the eye down towards the end of the image and I think the smooth water acts as a bit of a negative space to counteract the texture of the shingle. Perhaps also this is an image of calm but I can see that there is a tension in it as it could also be seen as an image of opposition between the smooth water and the busyness of the shingle. Almost leaving the viewer feeling unsatisfied with it. Perhaps it feels unresolved. I love how others see images differently it adds to the richness of landscape photography.
