2nd May - Captain's Wood & Ashridge
Well it's bluebell season in full bloom at least on Instagram, not sure the wood near us has got the email through - these ones are definitely behind others, and not as dense as usual. Perhaps it's the dry few weeks we've had but I will try again one evening.

Bluebell woods are one of my favourite subjects in photography, at least they were until I noticed the local undertakers were using them for prominent marketing images. I guess a misty bluebell wood is very peaceful....

They also teach you lots about colour balance. Just a touch of warm direct sunshine makes them turn purple. They can be a nightmare for colour control because everyone thinks they are blue. Anyway I'm enjoying seeing the different approaches that other photographers are using some are very creative.
