4th April - Sutton Heath Snow
I know that Suffolk (these days) doesn't have much of a reputation for snow but in the last five winters we've had at least two with a good covering (one I know because our heating froze up). I'm talking about enough to make the fields look white - but perhaps not exactly skiing weather! This year I thought we'd not have any. We've had some frost but not really snow and it looks like these bits on Sutton Heath are going to go down as the best offering of the year. Any way it cheers up the heather that's looking very dreary and adds a bit of foreground interest. I'm looking forward to it all exploding into leaf with all the wonderful shades of green - can't be long now.
